Network for a Healthy California - Nutrition Education at CCLA
At Cali we are empowering students to make good nutrition and daily physical activity a priority for themselves and their families! In our garden-based cooking classes, students prepare and sample a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables. They learn why eating more fruits and vegetables and being physically active is important for their health. Students also receive recipes and cookbooks (in English and Spanish) to share with their families and make at home. Serving lots of fruits and vegetables every day is one of the best things you can do to keep your family healthy! Come by the Nutrition Awareness booths at school-wide events to taste seasonal fruits and veggies, often from the school garden!
Eating lots of fruits and vegetables is a good way to keep your family healthy. Fruits and vegetablesThey taste great, and they can help fight serious health problems. These problems include obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and certain types of cancer.
